Undying Love
How sweet is this picture? Michael's uncle took this photo. The two people, holding hands, side by side are Michael's grandparents.
Glenn and Virginia were married for over 69 years. They know no other existence, but with each other. They raised ten children, mostly in a three bedroom home.
They have been in declining health for several months. Glenn's poor health required a hospital bed.
The couple were side by side in two beds, literally holding on to one another, even if it was only through the soft touch of fragile fingers. The presence of their other half was a comfort.
Glenn slipped away early Sunday morning.
He has moved on from this part of the journey. I am happy for him. Glenn was sick and feeble. He is free from his weak body.
I can't help, but think that Glenn and Virginia lived for one another. Glenn did not want to leave his beloved and Virginia felt the same.
I wonder how long she can endure without her partner?
I pray for her and hope Virginia finds peace until she and Glenn can hold hands once more.

That might be the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I think everyone wants a love like that.
ReplyDeleteI am so touched. That is true love.
ReplyDeleteOn reflection, many couples these days change spouses like they change their shirts. Superficial love.
Allah loves us all.
