Buzz Is Eight
Buzz turned eight last week. It was a very good birthday for him.
How do I know this? I know this because Buzz told Michael and me repeatedly, "This is the best birthday ever. I love you so much." This exclamation was usually followed by an exuberant hug.
We torture our kids on their birthdays. We do not open gifts in the morning. They have to wait until daddy comes home from work.
Buzz was incredibly patient...until four o'clock. He was ready to spontaneously com bust with all of his birthday excitement.
We called daddy to verify his location. He was leaving work soon. Buzz was on pins and needles until Michael walked through the door. Within thirty seconds Buzz was opening gifts.
What was he so excited about? Well, Buzz is all about Skylanders. He was completely thrilled to receive the number one Skylander on his list, Thumpback.
To top it all off, Buzz got an Ipod. He has been asking for one since Puff received one for her birthday in September.
I think daddy was relieved to give Buzz his Ipod. Our kids are obsessed with Minecraft. Perhaps you have heard of it? It is a constant battle between Buzz and Choo for daddy's Iphone.
When Michael arrives home from work, he is NOT usually greeted by, "Daddy, I missed you." Normally, it's "Daddy, can I play on your Iphone?" Michael feels the love bubbling from his children.
Someone is always disappointed because daddy only has one Iphone. The oven timer usually takes effect, monitoring fair and even play between Buzz and Choo.
The Ipod is a gift for Michael as much as it is a gift for Buzz. Don't tell Michael I said that?
Buzz's birthday was topped off by his choice of restaurant for dinner. It was a dilemma. He couldn't decide between Olive Garden or Training Table.
When we loaded into the van for dinner, a decision was mandatory. He chose Training Table. I think the phones gave Training Table the edge. If you are in Utah, you know what I mean.
He is growing up so fast!!! I hate it! Where did my babies go?

Way to go Mom and Dad...best birthday ever, you can't beat that! Ipod's are a lifesaver!
ReplyDeleteI know, but every birthday seems to get more and more expensive...and he is only eight. I shudder to think about the teenage years!
